Christmas

So since Cameron was understanding things much better this year I thought we should make some cookies for Santa. He was so excited to be making sparkley cookies just for Santa. They both had their special jobs making them and they did so well.
Christmas morning was fun for all of us. Cameron was so excited about everything he got. Even his clothes. We all had a lot of fun. They loved everything and haven't gotten sick of anything yet. We hope you all had a good holiday.

Family News

We have some news for any of you who we don't talk to as frequently. Jason got his orders. For now we're staying put. He's assigned to the USS Texas. In 2009 it's homeport will change from here to Hawaii. We're pretty excited.
Right now we're just trying to get ready for Christmas and I'm trying not to go stir crazy from the snow. It's pretty, yes, but what on earth do I do with my kids?! Especially now that we're all sick. Truely if anyone has any creative ideas please send them my way. we've made snowflakes, ornaments, TONS and TONS of cookies. We've painted, colored, played with play- doe, sang all the songs we know, and the list goes on and on. They're still trying to tell me it's not even actually winter yet. Posh! I'm here now and it's not going to last that long!
As for the kids, Cameron has gotten completely potty trained just this last week. Very exciting for us all. In the last 2 days his new thing is wanting to do it all himself, which isn't as great as it sounds. He also has a birthday this next thursday. We're having a combined birthday party for him and 2 other kids we know. He's very excited and keeps telling me I need to go make more party plans. As for William not much is going on. He jabbers all day and only has one volume, loud! I'm surprised at how quickly he's learning to talk. It seems like it's happening all at once with him. That's about all for now. We hope all of you are all doing well.

2. Apparently when I get irritated or mad I have an "I'm going to kill you" face. ( Jason and Nicole won't let me forget it either)

3. I have weird super bendable fingers.

4. I'm not a very nice morning person, but I have been trying a lot harder.

5. I can't stand hearing and seeing bones crack! Especially when people crack their necks! Just thinking about it...Uuuuggghh! Aweful!

6. I have aspirations to be really crafty.

7. I could eat a whole box of doughnuts by myself. I never let myself but it's a huge temptation. I'm really a fat kid inside... I could day dream about doughnuts. Mmmmmm.....

I thought this was cute. Cameron's been on a super helpful kick. He decided today that he was going to take everyones shoes off for them and put them all away. It was all so nice. Getting Will's off was tricky for him since he wouldn't sit down. I wish it would have run a little longer. He ended up sitting on top of him yanking it off. Will's so used to the roughness he didn't even object.

This is what I get for trying to lay down on the couch in the middle of the day. Believe me I won't make the same mistake again. This was painful. Beside Cameron weighing a ton William ended up biting me. They are some rough boys. It's a good thing they can handle eachother.

Cameron has found that he really likes our boots. They make a louder sound on the floor. Apparently that's what they're good for. He pretends that he's riding a horse. He says stuff like yee-haw and gitty-up. It cracks me up. I think we need to buy him one of those stick horses and a cowboy hat. He's been really into pretending lately. He's been doing me magic tricks and cooking me meals out of wood chips or water, whatever's handy. He's so funny. It's amazing how he's growing so fast.

Peeling Onions

Willam's current fascination with the onions has gotten a little out of control. I walk into the kitchen quite frequently to find him peeling the onions. Not only that, but he kind of sprinkles them around the kitchen so they're all over the place. I found an onion under the couch the other day. That was the last straw. When I say "last straw" it really means I'm done with it but I still haven't found a solution. Our kitchen's packed so I can't really move them. I guess I'm stuck with onion's everywhere until he gets bored. Jason and I are actually surprised that he still hasn't tried to take a bite out of one.... or at least as far as we know he hasn't.

Rain rain.....

More Rainy Day Fun

Cameron kept taking my socks and putting them on his hands calling them his long gloves and chasing everyone around pretending to be a monster. He'd pop out of closets or behind the couch. What a ham! He had William laughing so hard.
Rainy Day Project

We woke up this morning to find that it was raining again, what a shocker. So I knew I was in for it today. So pretty much from the moment I woke up I was trying to think of things to keep them busy. This is one of the things I came up with. A cereal box wrapped in contact paper with little garages on the side for airplanes and cars. I must say this was one of my better ideas. It dosn't matter if they destroy it since it's only a box. At least it kept them busy for a while.

Halloween

I must say Halloween was quite an experience. Our neighborhood has so many kids and I think every single one was out. People around here also decorate their houses for every holiday. It was typical autumn weather, cold and windy. The kids had so much fun. Cameron wanted to put his costume on from the moment he woke up. So when he finally got to put it on he was really excited. They didn't even need us to walk up to the doors with them. They just stood in the line of kids and did their own thing. Cameron was saying trick-or-treat like a good boy and William was being a little greedy always wanting a little more candy. They were so cute though. I think the older kids, in their scary costumes, kind of scared Cameron. He'd hold a little tighter to me when they walked by. One little boy ran up to Cameron in a ninja turtle costume who was so excited that he was Mr. Incredible, it was really cute. He was so proud of his costume he'd been practicing his running since we got it so he could be as fast as Dash. They had so much fun. They came home and ate more candy then I would ever allow and had a major sugar rush but then crashed pretty hard. There's a picture of Will in the slide were he's laying flat on the ground with his cup and one of those party blower things. That one was right after he crashed. He was so tired he couldn't even sit up anymore to watch his movie. Overall though it was really great. We all had a lot of fun.

Sunday Mornings

Is it just me or does everything go wrong for everyone on Sunday mornings?! Cameron always wants to sleep in so we have to wake him up, which is very bad, he's worse than me! Then for some crazy reason they decide they don't want to get dressed for the day. So you have to chase them down and pin them so you can get their clothes on and when you do finally you realize they've grown out of everything in just a week. The shirt is so short it won't tuck in and the shoes are so small they make him limp. So the only other choice is to let him wear sneakers to church , which really bothers me. It's crazy to me that he grows that quickly. Then to top it off right after I've done his hair, and he looks so cute, he hops on the couch and rubs his head into it making it look worse than when he woke up. Such a turkey! Please tell me it's not just us!

He loves veggie tales and he gets so into the songs.

He's getting so big!

William's getting pretty good on the bike. If only his legs were just a little longer. He's pretty determined though. Cameron likes it more to ride down the little hill in the back yard. That way he can just hold up his feet and go out of control.

Hello everyone

So I feel like a genius! I knew that our camera could record things but I never figured it out. So today I fiddled around with it and I did it, but not only that I figured out how to get it on to here. So I may sound lame to some of you but I feel like a genius! The boys were being terrors today, not that that's anything new, but everytime I picked something up I turned around to find another mess. It was really ridiculous. So when the cushions came off the couch I was too tired to resist. Besides it kept them busy for a while. Thank goodness for naps and playing outside. I might have gone crazy today. I thought it would be nice for you all to see some new developments. Will's started talking like crazy and some of it is very clear and Cameron has started singing songs constantly. Our memory card dosn't hold alot so it's just snip-its, but I thought it was cute.
I added some more pictures at the end of the slide. If you all wanted to take a look. Just more at the orchard and of the boys.

It's all the same

The other day we had just finished dinner and I was putting the boys into the bath when Jason says I'll do the dishes. That may sound pretty normal for some of you, but this is a rare occasion in our house. So the boys get out of the bath and ready for bed. It had been a long day so before you know it they were asleep. Well since the house was clean and in order I got to sit on the couch and relax. I was sitting there for maybe 10 minutes when Jason walks out of the kitchen and tells me there's water leaking from the dishwasher. I walk into find it's not really water it's soap suds. Since I'm so smart about dishwasher's, not really, I take a guess that a hose has sprung a leak somewhere. Then Jason gets this look on his face. The same look that kids get when they've done something bad but don't want to tell you. So I say what did you do. He then tells me we are out of cascade and he put palmolive in instead, but just a little, in his defense. Aaaahhh...who does that?! Crazy man. He then says, what was I going to do we were out? Hmmmm.... I think they could have waited until the morning honey. So we had to run it a few more times to get all of the bubbles out. I'm just surrounded by crazy boys.

Lots of Apples

So it just happens that I forget the camera everywhere we go. So you may think hmmmm.... it dosn't look like they get out much. Well once again I forgot the camera but here they are showing you the fruits of their labors. A few days ago we went to an orchard and picked apples. The boys really loved it, especially Cameron. What's not to love. Wide open spaces to run and something that kind of resembles destruction, picking the apples from the tree. Plus there was a big tractor that drives the people up and down the hill. It's a good thing they love apples. I got them coming out of my ears. This weekend we're going back. We're going to pick our pumpkins. They are so excited. I have a creeping suspicion that Cameron's going to want to pick some more apples, maybe we'll try pears this time or even raspberries. Today we're off to see the cows, chickens, and rabbits. That is, if it dosn't rain. Just in the last week there's been so much to do around here. All of the farms and orchards have opened up to the public and they're starting into all of the festivals this weekend. I'm excited. It's been good to have some fun distractions. I'm sure the boys would be excited too if they understood what a festival was. I'm sure they'll love it though.

Caboose

Train Wreck

Cameron was being so nice to Will. He didn't even care that he kept sticking his rear in his face.

And then it came to a crashing end.

Peek-A-Boo

They were cracking me up. They would lay under there for a really long time not even moving. They thought it was pretty funny too.

Lazy Mornings

After the visit with Eric and Suzanne the bed was still up. They both woke up the next day so tired. I'm not really sure why. They just vegged out for over an hour in the bed.
I Love Nap Time

Cameron and his pacifiers. I don't know how I'm ever going to brake him from that habit. He has to have three too. One for his mouth and one for each hand.

He just passed out. It was a long day of digging in the dirt and playing.

The Panic Whistle

So the latest hair cutting for the boys didn't go so great. I think it's time for me to just take them to someone else. They both were screaming like I was trying to cut off their legs and silly me had the windows open so you could probably hear it down the street. I'm surprised no one called the cops! Cameron went first and usually he does pretty good. Right from the beginning he was a reck, but nothing can compare to trying to do William's hair. What a complete disaster. Please, try to imagine, I was sitting next to him with my leg over his lap so he couldn't get down and one hand trying to hold his head. You gotta realize this only leaves me with one hand. Cameron's job was to bring him toy after toy until something was found that would calm him down. Towards the end I figured no other toys were working to calm him down so I'll just give him my keys. Of course he's only interested in the panic whistle. The only thing that could compare to how loud his screaming was. So he's all covered in snot, tears, and hair blowing the panic whistle. It was truely pathetic.

This Week

We've had quite a bit happening this week. First of all Cameron had to go to the doctor, again, for the same rash that he's had since we've been here. Of course they don't know what it is either. Seriously, don't you wonder sometimes why you even bother going. Half the time they don't even know what's the matter. Anyways, he gets to go back in a few weeks to see how that's going.
Jason is supposed to be going sometime in the next week or so to put in his request for ports. Remember it's just a request so it dosn't mean we'll actually get what we want. So there's been alot of talks this week of where we want to go and what places would be best. I did learn something though. If you want to go to Guam it's a certain thing that you will. We're pretty torn between 3 ports. Ultimately though the Navy will make the decision for us so we're trying not to get too worried about making the wrong choice.
Ashley Pratt's getting married. I got a call a few days ago from her mom and they want me to be there. So I would be gone for 4 days. I had to think about this one quite a while. I think though, as much as I want to be there and also see the family, I just wouldn't be able to relax. Nothing against Jason he just dosn't have a clue when it comes to their routine. I'm sure they'd live but I might not. That was a really hard decision. I thought about taking the boys too but we just couldn't swing it, I'm sure you all know how that goes.
Overall it's been a crazy week. To top it off, both of the boys woke up yesterday with colds. I'm praying they'll get over that quickly. I'm trying to decide who's suffering more me or them. Cameron's so cute though. I ask him how he feels and he'll just say, "I'm fine mom, it's ok." Even if the whole lower half of his face is covered in snot. Eeewww, by the way.
That's all my news for this week. Hopefully nothing else happens. Away from all the sickness and hard decisions though, we're really liking it back here. I can't tell any of you how beautiful it is. All the trees are just starting to change. We're all really looking forward to the fall. Cameron is extremely excited about Halloween. For this week he wants to be Dash from the Incredibles. Last week it was Buzz Lightyear. For some crazy reason he keeps insisting Will should be a chicken we really don't know why. He tells us that's what Will wants. We'll see though. We hope everyone is all doing well.

Our Family

Our little family is doing well. We're all finally starting to adjust to military life. Our two boys Cameron and William are happy and healthy. We like our new location of Groton Connecticut. It's a big change from southern California, but it's a nice adventure for all of us. There's so much to see out here and so many things we still want to do. Our boys are really the center of our world. They are growing so quickly. It's a great thing that they have eachother. They are best friends and do everything together.
